Giles Duceppe must have been laughing his ass off.
He thought he was going to collect his $140,000 a year political pension, and then go work for the CBC to continue the cause of tearing this country apart! (Being typically Canadian, a lot of people were OK with this!)
Well guess what kids?
Seems a lot of us did the un-Canadian thing and complained about this whole situation, to the point where the publicly funded CBC had to tell poor Mr. Duceppe that politics was a NO-NO on his show. (Just in case you’re wondering, this was also an about face for Le CBC.)
In typical French sovereignist fashion he gestured wildly, yelled and screamed, pouted, ranted and raved, and then took his microphone and went home!
Au Revoir!
Meanwhile………. back at the ranch!
Parti Quebecois Leader Pauline Marois has faced sagging separatist fortunes, resignations and calls for her to quit, and now she has a new problem – a new sovereigntist movement that could siphon votes.
The Nouveau Mouvement Pour le Quebec (New Movement for Quebec) published a manifesto signed by 77 ex-PQ and Bloc Quebecois members as well as sovereigntist-leaning professors and other citizens.
The group accuses the opposition PQ of being “worn out and confused” about how to achieve sovereignty after two failed referendums.
Listen boys and girls, WHY DOESN’T SOMEONE TELL THESE PEOPLE THAT THEY LOST THE WAR…. SO SHUT-UP ALREADY!
(As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for the English, all the French would be speaking German by now!)
